The 16th arrondissement is one of the 20 arrondissements that make up the city of Paris and is located on the right bank of the River Seine. It is one of the most expensive places to buy property in Paris and includes the mainly residential districts of Passy and Auteuil, hosts many diplomatic embassies and is where the famous Avenue Foch (the widest street in Paris) is found. As such it is home for many of Paris’s wealthy foreign residents. The 16th has many museums, beautiful 19th century architecture, large tree-lines avenues, prestigious schools and a number of parks including the Bois de Boulogne which is the second largest park in Paris. It has several high profile sporting venues including the Parc de Princes (home of the Paris St Germain football club), Roland Garros (where the French tennis open is played) and Stade Jean-Bouin (home of Stade Francais rugby team).

Property in the area is understandably rather expensive, usually between 12,000 to 15,000 Euros/m2 but can be significantly more expensive for some properties, especially in the exclusive gated communities, where you can find huge houses surrounded by gardens.
